The Chubu Electric Power Grid (PG, located in Nagoya) revealed to the press on the 11th that they are implementing a project to inspect substations with drones from remote locations in case of equipment failure or natural disasters. Currently, the substations are monitored by cameras, and in the event of an anomaly, personnel need to visit the site, which can be far away physically. Installing remotely operated drones within the substations can reduce the time it takes to assess the situation. This initiative aims to decrease inspection time and shorten power outage durations.
